LEXI’S BIO
I am so ready, willing and happy to share my HR management and recruiting experience with the world, while combining my love for baking and helping others. My experience as an HR leader for a Fortune 25 company has helped me become a recruiting enthusiast for early to mid-career professional women that also bakes up desserts in her spare time.
Work Sugar explores 2 of my favorite topic’s, food and people. Typically, in the workplace, words like empathy aren’t viewed in the most positive light, displaying emotions such as frustration, sadness and disappointment and even anger are frowned upon, but the reality is we are all people that experience these emotions in work, they will creep up at one time or another, and there is nothing wrong with that. I repeat, there is nothing wrong with experiencing any emotion whether positive or otherwise, however it’s what we do with those feelings that will help us to get to where we want to go.
I have had plenty of amazing professional experiences and some not so amazing (which I will share in my articles) that I hope will guide you in asking for a raise, landing a job, dealing with a boss who isn’t helpful or broaching the subject of a promotion.
This is the reason for Work Sugar. Through both my professional expertise and personal work experiences I will share how displaying empathy, kindness, authenticity, patience and a genuine regard for others will help get outcomes that you are looking for in your job search and career, even when those not so friendly emotions creep up. Along the way I’ve included my favorite dessert recipes (my food weakness – omg!) that I’ve tried from the web (maybe one day I will include my own!).
