Okay, here goes!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Things you most definitely DON’T NEED:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1. To meet all the qualifications listed in the horridly written job description.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Just a heads up, nobody meets all of the bullet points listed in job descriptions. Trust me when I say managers and recruiters write job descriptions with a unicorn in mind, these people they are hoping for don’t exist!! \ud83e\udd26\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

FYI, men are 6 times more likely to apply to a role They aren’t qualified for\u00a0than women.\u00a0 So let’s apply ladies! Let’s help the managers and recruiters realize what they want!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2. 10 years of experience to land a quality role with a great company.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

10 years worth of experience is\u00a0not a must have at all, there are definitely ways to get there, you just have to be strategic.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

3. Negative Nancy’s disguising themselves as realists, proclaiming to help you and give you feedback on YOUR career.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Although well-intended, no thank you! Positive energy only please! It’s important to have a clear mind and stay focused during the job search, it’s daunting enough going through the process, crossing fingers and toes , saying your prayers, and getting ghosted without some good support along the way. Trust me, positive energy is a must because it WILL impact the jobs you apply to and how you feel overall about yourself.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Stuff you DO need:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1. Unwavering support!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This goes back to negative Nancy listed above\u00a0of things you don’t need. Stay positive and practice a spirit of gratitude, walk and talk like you already have it and you will attract it to you. Keeping a\u00a0positive attitude will allow things to\u00a0unfold, put it in the Universe, truly let it go and watch it come to you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2. An unwavering belief that anything is possible.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

How do I know? HR wasn’t always my career path. I was actually in a totally different industry (called sitting at home because I had quit my full-time job a couple of years prior)\u00a0trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do while staring 30 years old dead smack in the face. Back in 2014 with only my faith and a prayer I applied to small\u00a0HR roles.\u00a0One started out part-time and so did the next, eventually I transitioned to\u00a0bigger and better companies\u00a0until I landed at one of the most recognizable brands in the world (and it only took a few short years).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

3. A great\u00a0resume<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

No lie here! A great resume will get you in the door for sure.\u00a0When you get invited to an interview, it’s solely because they have taken a look at your resume and felt that you are qualified for the role and that’s literally 1\/3 of the battle (I will save what the other 2\/3 are for another check-in).\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I hope my random tips landed somewhere with you. I literally thought of these and just put it to paper. Lol.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
