Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies – Work Sugar
0

I love delicious chocolate chip cookies, but I always find myself making a super quick trip to the mall or heading to my local grocery store and getting some Nestle cookie dough to bake those (shhh..don’t tell anyone, lol).

Of course, if you know me by now, I really prefer all things made at home. And so I found this delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe on Butternut Bakery Blog. I believe the blog is by a woman named Jenna. Anyhow, I made the cookies and they came out amazing. I made a couple of tweaks (for my own personal preference) but nothing major.

These cookies taste delicious and I know they will be a hit with adults and kids alike!

It’s simple, quick and easy, so even if this is your first time making the cookie, you will have a hit (just be sure to follow the directions!).

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cups mini semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or cookie liners.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add room temperature unsalted butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
  4. Whisk in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Pour in the dry ingredients and use a rubber spatula to fold to combine. Leave a few streaks of flour and pour in the chocolate chips. Continue to fold the dough until the chocolate chips are dispersed and the flour is completely blended in.
  6. Fir bite size cookies, use a small cookie dropper and scoop about 9-10 cookies onto the baking sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes. If you prefer a gooier, bake the cookie for 6 minutes as opposed to 8. If you do not have a cookie “scooper”, use a 2TSBP of cookie dough for a larger more regular sized cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, if baking a larger cookie.
  7. The cookies are ready when the bottom edges of the cookie begin to brown. The top of the cookie will be pale in color and puffed, but this changes after they cool. The cookies will continue to bake outside oven and will slowly flatten and settle as they cool.
  8. Let the cookies cool for about 15-20 minutes before eating. They will be slightly warm and ready to eat.

Enjoy!
